Who do I have to pay to make this happen?
With season three of Stranger Things on the horizon and a MASSIVE new stan-base, everyone's favourite police chief dad David Harbour is attempting to speak a few potential storylines into existence for his character, Hopper.
And we have a feeling that one of them could have the potential to literally end us all...
"I want to get into the backstory of Hopper more. When Eleven goes into the basement, she sees a bunch of boxes, one of which says “Hawkins Lab.” “Dad.” “Vietnam.” “New York.” There’s a lot of story we can get into around Hopper’s time as a cop in New York, Hopper’s time in Vietnam," he told Variety.
"I’ve been pretty vocal about how I love the dynamic between Joyce and Hopper, which I don’t feel like we got a lot of time to explore in Season 2. I just love that dynamic of these two lost people... It’s done so sophisticatedly by the Duffers, and Winona is really game for it, too. We love playing scenes with each other. I would love more stuff with her."
"I do think the internet knows my love for Joe Keery. I would love to see a Hopper and Steve get-together, but I seriously doubt that’s going to happen."
WHAT?! YES! DON'T LOSE FAITH, DAVID! WE WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN! How do we make this happen? If all of us chip in with at least $10, we can make this happen. How much do the Duffer brothers need as a bribe? I'll give it to them in cash. They can take whatever they want!
Can you imagine? A buddy-cop storyline between your two favourite characters on the show?
It's not the first time the two have mentioned how much they want to work together more either. Earlier in the month, Joe Keery spoke to MTV News about pairing up with David on the show: "I just think David's so sick and I think that'd be kind of funny."
In all seriousness, a storyline like that wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Seeing as they're both doting fathers and the ONLY two reliable parents in Hawkins (no offence, Joyce...), it would make perfect sense for the pair to team up, fight crime and drive home together to cook the kids some dinner.
Maybe Steve ends up working at the precinct after high-school? Maybe all six of the kids go missing and it's up to Steve and Hopper to harness their dad powers to find and save them? Maybe it's just a 5 minute scene of them hurling insults at each other?
I don't care what it is. I am in. Sign me up. I'm not accepting season three without it.
