The Weeknd fans think his Hardest to Love lyrics are an apology to Bella Hadid

The Weeknd fans believe that he confirms he cheated on Bella Hadid in his heartbreakingly honest 'Hardest to Love' lyrics.

Today (Mar 20), The Weeknd released his highly-anticipated, fourth studio album After Hours worldwide. The brand new LP includes the 30-year-old's recent hit singles, 'Blinding Lights' and 'Heartless', alongside 12 other tracks produced by Frank Dukes, Max Martin and Metro Boomin. Not only that but it also contains candid lyrics about The Weeknd's personal life.

One of the standout tracks, 'Hardest to Love', tells the story of a failed relationship and fans think it's about Bella Hadid.

In 'Hardest to Love', The Weeknd sings: "You try with me so many times, yeah / You're cryin' out behind the smiles," and: "I've been the hardest to love / It's hard to let me go, yeah." He then appears to allude to cheating in the bridge when he adds: "I can't, can't believe you want me / After all the heartbreaks, after all I've done / No, I can't, can't believe you trust me."

The Weeknd never specifies who he's singing about in the song but, seeing as he broke up with Bella Hadid last year after dating her on-and-off for four years, fans are assuming it's about her. One wrote: "listening to 'hardest to love' knowing it’s probably about bella hadid and that they’re probably never going to get back together" with a crying meme [sic]."

Another added: "the weeknd really got me missing bella hadid, although im not even a fan [sic]."

As it stands, The Weeknd is yet to confirm if 'Hardest to Love' is about Bella Hadid. We shall update you if he does.
