Listen To Keiynan Lonsdale's New Song "Kiss The Boy"

It's Keiynan's first original release since publicly coming out after his performance in 'Love, Simon'.

Keiynan Lonsdale, the breakout star from the Love, Simon film, has surprised fans with a new song called 'Kiss The Boy'.

The 26-year-old actor has been quietly releasing music for a few years. On his YouTube channel, there are several videos of Keiynan singing covers including Rihanna's 'Work' and Kanye West's 'Only One', as well as original material.

Announcing the new song on his Twitter, Keiynan tweeted, "So.. I wrote a song about love, & it’s out now everywhere :) I hope you feel it." It is his first original release since publicly coming out after his performance in Love, Simon.

On 'Kiss The Boy', Keiynan has fallen for a guy but he's unsure of it the feelings are reciprocated. It includes the line, "Don’t wanna hide, don’t wanna hide / Most of my life I been terrified / Spending my days always questioning / Am I wrong to love a man", which seems fitting, given the difficulties of coming-out which are the explored in Love, Simon.

Keiynan has previously discussed coming out to his Love, Simon co-stars after they finished filming. “I walked onto that set feeling really nervous, and for some reason I hid it day one, and then I felt like I couldn't tell them after that, because I'd already not said it. Part of me was disappointed in myself, because I was in this film, and celebrating this moment, and I wasn't even championing it for myself. … I'm playing this love story between a man and a man, and everyone is here because they want to honour this beautiful truth. And here I am, still afraid. I'm still not comfortable enough.”
