We smell a hit coming…
Dove Cameron literally wiped her Instagram page – leaving all but two very telling photos – ahead of releasing new music. When an artist does this it can only really mean one thing… a new era of Dove is coming and we've never been more ready.

The Descendants actress shared a photo of a handwritten note to her Instagram page and apologised to her fans for not delivering new music sooner. "Wanna start by saying that I know it’s been 6 years that I've been promising (teasing) new music, and that I know my handwriting is terrible," the note read.
"It’s been the strongest, most varied/twisted journey to get to this point, but I’m so glad that it was. Every time I tried in the past, it was never quite right, and always a compromise of some kind. And while this is only the start of it, for the first time in my young career and life, I finally feel like I see who I am reflected in something I’m sharing with the world, and that’s incredibly gratifying and novel to me, if not a little terrifying/totally humbling.

"To those of you that have been waiting; thanks for your patience and support. This first release is the end of music month, but the start of a whole new era for me as an *artist*, where my music plays a central role and I drop songs/content super regularly. We’ve waited long enough, you know? And for those of you that follow me but have no idea who I am or that I was planning on releasing music, I hope you hear yourself in some of my stuff. Can’t wait to keep (start) creating with you/for you."
Later, Dove shared a snippet of her new track on Instagram alongside the single artwork. The photo featured a black and white photo of Dove with a red paint swiped across it. In the caption, Dove confirmed her single will drop on 27 September – tomorrow!
This wouldn't be the first time Dove has ventured into the music industry, though, Dove has actually already released three soundtrack albums, four singles and nine music videos. She was also in the two-woman girl group, The Girl and the Dreamcatcher, with her Liv and Maddie co-star Ryan McCartan.
