Doja Cat received backlash in September 2018 for her use of homophobic slurs towards rappers Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler the Creator. The tweets dated back to 2015 when Doja was in high school. Her response earned her even more backlash, as she tweeted: "Does saying f****t mean you hate gay people? I don't think I hate gay people. Gay is ok."
