The 'Shine Ya Light' singer says she and Jay-Z set high standards for her work ethic to keep her on track.

Rita Ora has opened up about how tough of a boss Jay-Z is, and says she gets fined if she is ever late to the recording studio.

The 'Radioactive' singer is signed to 'Holy Grail' rapper Jay-Z's label Roc Nation, and says he is "always on time" and makes you realise how hard you hard to work.

"I was late in the studio by ten minutes and I got an email checking up on me," Rita revealed to NME this week. "There's a fine if I'm late.

"I set that standard for myself," Rita explained. "But now I'm regretting it!

"It's a small example of the way Jay is always on time and on point with his s**t," she added. "He doesn't try and make you do anything you don't want to do, he doesn't make you be on time, but he makes you realise you're only affecting yourself."

Earlier this week Rita took to Twitter to hit out at rumours of a fall out between her and best friend Cara Delevingne, calling the claims "stupid" and saying no one knows what goes in in their friendship apart from themselves.

Rita Ora is working on a brand new album at present, the follow-up to her 2012 debut 'ORA'.
