The 'You & I' singer says thank you to her fans revealing she will be "dreaming" of them as she goes under the knife.

Lady Gaga is set to undergo surgery today (20th February) after checking into hospital in the wake of her world tour cancellation, and told fans she will be "dreaming" of them when she goes under the knife.

The 'Marry The Night' singer has confirmed she is now under the care of doctors who will attempt to repair a tear in the pop star's right hip, which she sustained while out on her 'Born This Way Ball' world tour.

Gaga was forced to cancel the remaining 21 dates of the tour last week in an emotional announcement which saw her admitting to having been in "chronic pain" for weeks.

"Going in for surgery now," Lady Gaga tweeted earlier this afternoon (20th February). "Thank you so much for sending me love and support.

"I will be dreaming of you," the 'You & I' singer added.

Earlier this week the US star shared a picture of her wheelchair, which she has christened 'Emma', after being forced to use the device to ease her discomfort.

It is believed the 'Judas' singer could be set to lose millions after having to cut the North American leg of the 'Born This Way Ball' short in order to allow time for her body to recover.

Lady Gaga is widely expected to release her new album 'ARTPOP' this autumn after teasing the record for several months now.
