Justin Bieber says he is "really happy" Carly Rae Jepsen is getting so much attention at the moment for her hit single 'Call Me Maybe'.
The 'Never Say Never' singer signed the Canadian singer-songwriter to his and Scooter Braun's label Schoolboy Records, and Justin says he knew people needed to hear the song as soon as he heard it.
"She's such an organically good person, she's just happy and a good person," Justin told Ryan Seacrest yesterday (26th March). "I"m really happy that this is all happening for her.
"I heard the song and I was like: 'This is the catchiest song ever, people need to hear this'," Justin recalled. "It was number one in Canada so I was like, 'If this is number one in Canada there's no way it can't be number one everywhere else."
The 'Mistletoe' singer was speaking after the launch of his brand new single 'Boyfriend', which received its first play on Capital FM yesterday morning.
Justin received a message of congratulations from Carly on Twitter yesterday after 'Boyfriend' shot straight to number one on the US iTunes Chart.
