Adam Levine's nipples at the Super Bowl are being called out on Twitter

"If Adam Levine can have his nipples out, why can't Janet Jackson!?"

Let's talk about Maroon 5's Super Bowl Half Time show performance, shall we? Or, more specifically, Adam Levine's nipples and why people are so pissed off at them. In case you missed it, Maroon 5 took to the stage to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta last night (Feb 3) with guests Travis Scott and Big Boi and it did not go down well.

Some people are living for the performance, some people are calling it the worst Half Time show ever and others are asking one very fair and important question: if Adam Levine is allowed to show his nipples, why can't Janet Jackson?

On the last song, Adam took his shirt off to reveal his heavily tattooed, chiselled torso - nothing out of the ordinary about it, a Maroon 5 performance is not a Maroon 5 performance without a shirtless Levine, right? He looked great, many people loved it, no one is blaming *him* at all... but the double standards did not go clocked.

Janet's "wardrobe malfunction" gets chastised and vilified while Levine's nipples are celebrated? Once again, the male nipple vs. female nipple censorship issue rages on and people had some THOUGHTS.

In case you are unaware of the great Janet Jackson nipple fiasco of 2004, let us fill you in. Janet performed at the Super Bowl with Justin Timberlake in 2004. At the end of the performance, part of her costume was ripped away by Justin and her nipple was shown on TV.

As a result, she was allegedly banned from the Half Time show for life (NFL have recently said there was no ban). Over a nipple. Her entire career was derailed, she was black-listed and she spent YEARS trying to come back from it. OVER A NIPPLE. Justin Timberlake, on the other hand, was invited back to headline in 2018. LOVE that.

Anyway, that brings us back to Adam Levine's shirtless moment during his set. If Janet was banned and absolutely annihilated for exposing a nip on TV, why isn't Adam catching any heat?

Oh, yes... it's because he's a man with male nipples. Male nipples are great. Everyone loves them. But women's nipples? They are BAD. And you should not look at them or acknowledge them. EVER.

"Ohhh, it's because she's a woman with breasts and breasts are farrrrr too sexy." It's a fucking NIPPLE, Susan. We've all got them.

He should have just left that awful tank top on and carried on singing.

Read the room, Adam!

There can't be a nipple rule for one and another nipple rule for another.

If we've banned one nipple, then we should ban ALL NIPPLES.

I truly hope Adam Levine can come back from this.
