The 'Love Story' singer says she also named her new album 'Red' because she loves the colour.
Taylor Swift has explained the decision to name her new album 'Red' and says it is both to do with the emotions she expresses on the record and her love for the colour in general.
The 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' singer says she sees red as a "brave" and "bold" colour, and likes that it represents a lot of her emotions on the upcoming record, which will mark her fourth studio album release.
"Well, in terms of my album, it kind of signifies the intense, really bold emotions you feel when you're in kind of mad love," Taylor revealed to MTV News this week. "And I think that all of the songs on the album are written about those kinds of experiences that I've had.
"I think in general red is just a bold, brave colour," Taylor explained, confirming she always tries to incorporate the colour into her outfits. "I love red lipstick. I love red dresses. I love red shoes. Red is the theme of the moment."
The 'Love Story' singer added that all of her album tracks stand on their own musically, and are like a "patchwork quilt" of lots of different emotions and events that have influenced her.

Last week Taylor released the official music video for the album's lead single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together', which has currently reached two weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Taylor's brand new album will also feature a collaboration with 'Lego House' singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, and the two have praised each other since getting the chance to work together.
Taylor Swift's single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' is out now and her new album 'Red' is due for release on 22nd October.
Taylor Swift is also set to perform her current single live at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 tomorrow night (6th September) live from Los Angeles.
