The two former reality show boy bands will perform on the ITV1 show's live final along with Coldplay, Leona Lewis and Michael Buble.
Coldplay, One Direction and JLS will all perform at Wembley Arena this December for The X Factor live final.
The X Factor 2006 winner of Leona Lewis will also perform on the ITV1 show, as will Canadian singer Michael Buble.
The live final will be split over two nights and Coldplay will perform on the Sunday ahead of the crowning of this year's The X Factor champion.
"This is the biggest final The X Factor has ever done," panellist Gary Barlow announced. "Being at Wembley Arena for the first time and in front of 10,000 people with Coldplay performing, I can't wait – it's going to be an amazing night."
"We're all big X Factor fans so we're very excited to play live on the show," Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said.
It has yet to be confirmed whether any of the acts will also perform duets with one of the three finalists as in previous years.
One Direction and JLS have both performed on The X Factor twice already this year, performing their singles 'Gotta Be You' and 'Take A Chance On Me', respectively, as well as a joint performance of this year's charity single 'Wishing On A Star' with the show's fifteen finalists.
The X Factor live final will air over 10th and 11th December.
