People are calling 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart' by Louis Tomlinson a copy of 'Steal My Girl' by One Direction.

Louis Tomlinson is back with 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart' and One Direction fans think his new single sounds very familiar.

All of One Direction are releasing brand new music right now. Niall Horan and Harry Styles are dropping their new songs 'Put a Little Love on Me' and 'Adore You' tomorrow (Dec 6), Liam Payne's debut album LP1 is also out in mere hours and Zayn is currently taking over Spotify with his latest SHAED collaboration 'Trampoline'. Directioners are eating good this Christmas.

That's not all though. At the end of October, Louis Tomlinson announced that he would put out his first solo album Walls in January 2020 and now he's released the LP's fourth single. 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart' has so far received widespread praise from fans, however, some people believe that the song is a "copy" of One Direction's own hit 'Steal My Girl'.

While both songs have very different verses, listeners can't help but notice the similarities between the chorus of 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart' and 'Steal My Girl'. Both singles have a similarly uplifting vibe and people are calling the melodies and the production in them almost "identical". Fans will already know that Louis co-wrote 'Steal My Girl' for One Direction.

In the days since Louis dropped 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart', Directions have taken to Twitter to compare the two singles. One fan wrote: "why is louis’s new song literally steal my girl" and another person added: "mf song sounds like steal my girl if he wanted to copy 1d songs at least copy a good one".

Elsewhere, one fan tweeted: "louis tomlinson’s new song sounds a lot like one direction’s steal my girl, so can he plagiarise his own song????" and someone else quipped: "Can’t believe Louis Tomlinson just rereleased Steal my Girl".

Speaking about 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart' on his YouTube channel recently, Louis said: "I wrote that in LA and that must have been about a year ago now. I was in that time of life when I was trying to write things as hopeful as I could and it's kind of saying, whatever life throws at you, don't let it break your heart basically. Keep on going."

What do you think? Do the two songs sound similar?
