One Direction members Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson initially had a "really bad" feud.
One Direction's Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson may be close now but Liam has revealed that they once hated each other.
In the first few years of One Direction's career, it always seemed as though Harry Styles, Niall Horan, ZAYN, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were great friends. The group may have been put together by Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger on the X Factor in 2010, but it looked like they immediately bonded and formed valuable friendships. For the most part, that still appears to be true but, since ZAYN left the band in 2015, it's become evident that not all of the band got/get along.

For example, Liam has just revealed that he and Louis had a "really bad" feud when One Direction first formed.
Say what?! Yes. It's true that Liam and Louis are best of buds these days but back when One Direction were still contestants on The X Factor, things weren't quite so harmonious. Speaking to Hits Radio, Liam explained: "When we were in the band it kind of felt like, because he was the oldest and because I'd been singing for quite a bit of time, we both got put in a weird position."
Further discussing their dynamic, Liam said: "He was wanting to be the leader and I was doing my thing and wanted to. So at first we didn't get on at all. We absolutely hated each other, it was so funny. Really bad. We hid it well." Thankfully, that isn't the case anymore. Liam went on to say that they still "speak a lot" today: "If he has a problem, he'll call me."
Liam also praised Louis' music: "He sent me his new single and I had a listen and it's really good actually." Our hearts.
Speaking to Men's Health Australia recently, Liam revealed that he struggled at times in One Direction: "We had an absolute blast but there were certain parts of it where it just got a little bit toxic, it's difficult when you have the level of fame that we had in the band." He also said that, as a coping mechanism, he was "pissed a lot of the time" that he was in the band.
Thankfully, it seems as though Liam is in a much better headspace now. We wish him and the 1D boys all the best.
