The 'Boyfriend' star opens up about his relationship during an interview on Oprah: The Next Chapter.

Justin Bieber has opened up about girlfriend Selena Gomez amid reports that the pair are experiencing relationship troubles.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, which is due to be screened on 26th November in the UK, Justin says he never wants Selena to feel "like I'm ashamed of her".

It follows reports this month that the pair had split up – although they were spotted together at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend.

"Sometimes we gotta take the back exits and do different things. But I never make her separate from me – I don't want her to ever feel like I'm ashamed of her," Justin tells Oprah in the interview.

Watch Justin Bieber talking about his relationship with Selena Gomez:

"I feel like a lot of guys do that, especially in the business. They don't want to be seen with their girls so they'll make them ride in separate cars and make them do all that getaway stuff. If we getaway, we're getaway together at least."

The UK premiere of Oprah's Next Chapter: Justin Bieber is due to air at 9pm on 26th November 9PM on DMAX.
