Songs performed by Christina Aguilera, Gwyneth Paltrow and Justin Bieber are on the shortlist for an Oscar in 2011.
'Bound to You', which Aguilera sings in 'Burlesque', Bieber's collaboration with Jaden Smith, 'Never Say Never' from 'The Karate Kid', and two tracks from Paltrow's movie 'Country Strong' are in the running for the Best Original Song.
The list of 41 songs is narrowed down next month. Other songs hoping to make the cut are Carrie Underwood's There’s a Place for Us from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and tracks performed by Janet Jackson and Alanis Morissette.
The 2011 Oscars will be held on 27 February at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
