Justin Bieber "Ready" For The American Music Awards While Looking Back On His Career

The 'Boyfriend' star notes that it has been three years since he arrived on the scene with first album 'My World'.

Justin Bieber says he is "ready" to take to the stage at tonight's American Music Awards 2012, while feeling nostalgic about the release of this first album three years ago today.

The 'Beauty And A Beat' singer will perform at the annual awards show in Los Angeles today (18th November), where he is up for four awards including Artist Of The Year and Favourite Pop/Rock Album for 'Believe'.

"Three years ago today I released by first album #MYWORLD - we are come a long way to #BELIEVE now," Justin tweeted this weekend. "You have all always been there. THANK YOU.

"Last day of rehearsals. workout then on sites. @theamas are almost here. and WE ARE GOING HARD! r u with me?" Justin also posted, teasing his performance later today.

As well as tweeting his excitement about the American Music Awards, Justin also posted a cryptic tweet possibly referring to recent reports of a split between himself and Selena Gomez.

He added: "Things aren't always easy. There is a lot of pressure. I'm figuring it all out. I'm trying. But I care, I notice, i still hear u. #Beliebers."

The 'As Long As You Love Me' singer and actress Selena are reported to have split this month after struggling with the long distance nature of their relationship.

The American Music Awards 2012 take place tonight at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and will also see performances from the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, Nicki Minaj, Pink, Taylor Swift, Usher and The Wanted.
