We haven't got a Stranger Things 4 release date (or even an official confirmation!) However, the series is reportedly set to begin filming in October. So, it seems we were due for a bit of an update from the Stranger Things folks.
Over the weekend (29 Sept), the Stranger Things social accounts posted three very cryptic hints that prove we are officially in the season 4 era.
The first clue was a tweet consisting of two emojis. The first emoji is a clock, while the second is an upside-down smiley face emoji. The upside-down smiley emoji is a pretty obvious reference to the show's terrifying parallel dimension – the 'upside down'. The clock, however, requires a bit more consideration.
Could we be talking about a time jump or even a difference in the passage of time for people trapped in the upside-down? Ahem, HOPPER PERHAPS?! Some fans even suggested that a time travel plot could be on the table.

The second piece of unusual activity on the show's social accounts involved a change in their Instagram and Twitter bios and display photos. The display photo for the accounts have been changed to a spooky photo of a clock that looks like it is seconds away from striking 12.
The clock and upside-down face show up once again in the bios.

So, what does it all mean? Well, with David Harbour dropping hints left and right and the show's official accounts joining in on the shenanigans, I'd say we're (at the very least) days away from an announcement about season 4.
The Duffer Brothers like to play things close to the vest, so it's unlikely that we'll find out any substantial plot details before season 4 actually drops. However, they might be willing to reveal this pretty major hint about time playing a big part in season 4. Luckily, it looks like we won't have to wait long for more clarity on what this all means.
