The exciting series is coming sooner than you think.
Stranger Things fans, rejoice! The popular Netflix sci-fi drama is expected to return in 2019 but, before then, die hard fans can check out a book series based on the iconic show.
Netflix has teamed up with Penguin Random House to bring fans a series of books delving deeper into the Stranger Things universe.
So far, three books have been revealed; a behind the scenes book, a gift book (due in Autumn) and a prequel novel (due in 2019) are all in the works. The behind the scenes companion book is called Stranger Things: World Turned Upside Down: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Companion. Whew, that's a lot of colons.
Presumably, the behind the scenes companion title will give fans a close up look at production and special effects work that goes into creating a series like Stranger Things.
Deadline reports that the as-yet-titled second gift book will give “advice, wisdom, and warnings from the Stranger Things world.” We're hoping detailed advice on scaring off a demogorgon will be included.
Another book, a prequel due out in early 2019, will tell the story of Eleven's mother and how the MKUltra experiments led to Eleven being born with her abilities. The novel will be written by Gwenda Bond (the Lois Lane series, Strange Alchemy), who expressed excitement on Twitter at the opportunity to contribute to the Stranger Things universe.
Because my focus is shot today with all the excitement I’m making C take me to an Oceans 8 matinee. Thank you all so much! I’m absolutely thrilled to get to contribute to the Stranger Things universe and your excitement means the world! 😍😍😍 pic.twitter.com/57cC8UDRLJ
