The Only Way Is Essex's Jon Clark has been suspended from TOWIE and returned home from Newcastle after 'slapping' co-star Diags in a nightclub in an apparent fight over a woman.

TOWIE is always sure to bring the drama, but it's emerged that one cast member, Jon Clark – who was recently rumoured to have rekindled his romance with Lauren Pope – has taken it too far and been suspended from the show after allegedly 'slapping' his co-star, James 'Diags' Bennewith on a night out in Newcastle.

The two reportedly got into a fight when they over a woman in a nightclub in Newcastle they had both set their sights on, which resulted in the pair getting into a fight and having to be 'pulled off' one another.

The show has confirmed his suspension, saying: "[We] can confirm that Jon has been suspended from TOWIE but we can’t comment further at this stage."

A spokesperson for Jon claimed that Diags 'slapped' Jon first, to which he retaliated, and: "[They] had a row over some things Diags had said about Jon to a girl they both know."

Jon's representative has also confirmed the incident went down, but went on to explain there may be more to his break from the show than first appears.

They told a tabloid: "Jon is going through a lot of stuff in his personal life at the moment and wants to take a break from being on the show to focus on his family and helping his sister with her daughter, as well as his business."

He has since been spotted back in Essex looking downtrodden, and as whole thing happened off-camera, so it won't be a part of the series currently airing on ITVBe.
