Deloitte make u-turn on their decision and confirm stores will begin taking the vouchers again this week.
HMV stores will accept gift cards and vouches from tomorrow (22nd January), it's been announced.
Administrators Deloitte said they had made the decision after making a more positive analysis of the music retailer's financial situation.
The move follows widespread condemnation of Deloitte's decision not to honour gift cards after HMV went into administration last week.
They also announced that proceeds from HMV's sales of charity releases would be paid as soon as possible.
"We recognise that both of these matters have caused concern for individuals and organisations affected and are pleased to have reached a positive outcome," the administrator said.
"We will continue to assess the longer term options for the business whilst continuing to trade. I am hopeful this process will result in the business continuing as a going concern."
HMV announced last week that it was going into administration. It followed the company's battle to remain competitive against the digital marketplace.
HMV has over 200 stores UK wide and employs more than 4000 people.
