Celebrities react to the devasting Brazilian Amazon rainforest fires. Many are tweeting and sharing information about how to help the Amazon rainforest while others are simply raising awareness.
Devastating fires in the Amazon rainforest have been raging for weeks, with many scientists concerned about the climate change implications of the intense fires. The vitally important rainforest is the largest in the world and home to diverse animal and plant life populations.
How much oxygen does the amazon forest produce?
The Amazon rainforest produces more than 20% of the earth's oxygen, according to National Geographic.
Now, with the Amazon rainforest at risk from deforestation, many celebrities are speaking out and urging their followers to pay close attention. Famous folks like Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X and Jameela Jamil are all posting about the fires which pose a huge threat to the indigenous populations of the rainforest, as well as the plants and animals who also reside there.
Camila Cabello tweeted that the fires made her want to "cry with frustration".
