Taylor Swift Fans Held Up $1 Dollar Bills As She Gave A Tearful Speech About Court Case
15 August 2018, 12:04
As a tribute for the one year anniversary since Taylor Swift won her sexual assault court case, asking for just $1 in compensation from her perpetrator, fans decided to give the singer the ultimate surprise, as she opened up about her experience on stage.
Taylor Swift took a moment out of her 'Reputation' tour in Tampa, Florida, to open up to fans about winning her court case against her assaulter one year ago to the day, telling them: 'I want to say thank you for being there for me during what was a really horrible part of my life'.

However, what Tay didn't realise was fans had secretly organised a seriously heartwarming tribute to the 'Look What You Made Me Do' singer, by holding up one dollar notes- the amount she asked to be awarded by the perpetrator, as a symbol of winning the case on behalf of women and sexual assault survivors.
It's been 1 year since @taylorswift13 won her assault case for only 1 dollar. I'm so proud of you.@taylornation13 @TSOfficialMerch #repTourTampa #TaylorSwift #istandwithtaylor pic.twitter.com/kazL2ULfcd

In a tearful speech, Taylor talked about how 'A year ago to the day the jury sided with me', adding 'I want to say thank you for being there for me during what was a really horrible part of my life'.
Taylor was sued by a DJ named David Mueller, after he was fired for sexually assaulting the singer when she posed for a photo with him in 2013, to which she counter sued for just one dollar.
Taylor went on to talk about 'how far we still have to come', saying: 'I just think about all the people that haven't been believed and I just wanted to say I'm sorry to [them] because I don't know what turn my life if people didn't believe me when I said something had happened to me.'
It may have been just one dollar, but the value of what taylor fought for is worth so much more. She did it for her, she did it for us, she did it for victims everywhere who maybe have been silent about what happened to them. I Stan one woman. @taylorswift13 #reptourtampa
