The 'Love Story' star says its difficult to have guys as friends because of the press reaction.
Taylor Swift has admitted she is a "girls' girl" and doesn't have many male friends because they always get romantically linked to her in the press.
The 'Begin Again' singer says she surrounds herself with female friends and only has a select few male friends because any men she is spotted with always become rumoured as a new romantic interest.
"I'm a girls' girl," Taylor revealed to InStyle this month. "I have guy friends, but the problem with having guy friends is I always get [romantically] linked to them, and they'll end up in a slideshow of people I've apparently dated on the internet.
"I mean, there's all kinds of complicated things with having guys as friends," the 'Love Story' singer explained. "If they have a girlfriend who doesn't like you, or things like that.
"So I have like two or three guy friends,' Taylor added. "But I have like 20-25 really good girlfriends."
The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer also opened up on the emotional content of her lyrics and promises she would never censor herself just to stop her personal life hitting the headlines.
"Choosing to let your fans into your life is a good thing because it connects you to your fans forever," she explained. "Unfortunately, when you let your fans into your life through your lyrics, you're also letting everyone else into your life.
"For me it's never been something that I've ever regretted," Taylor added. "I don't see the point [of censoring myself]."
