The 'Superbass' singer was reported to have made an intimidating remark towards the judge involving a gun.
Nicki Minaj's apparent death threat towards Mariah Carey during their heated exchange on American Idol this week has been denied by the show's boss Nigel Lythgoe.
The 'Starships' singer is reported by TMZ to have said: "If I had a gun, I would shoot her," in an off-camera rant during their fight, something which has been called "absolute rubbish" by Lythgoe.
"The statement [that Nicki made a death threat] is absolute rubbish," he declared. "It's absolutely not true in any way, shape or form."
The two artists came to blows during the auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina and forced an end to filming for the day.
Fellow panellists Keith Urban and Randy Jackson were seen in the video footage attempting to try and calm down the two stars.
Host of the show Ryan Seacrest admitted he thought the row had gone "a little too far" when questioned on what went down.
You can read the apparent transcript, which has emerged on several US publications this week below:
Nicki: 'Think I'm playin? Think this s*** is a f***** joke? Think it's a joke? Think it's a joke? Think it's a joke? Say one more disrespectful thing to me, if you say one more disrespectful thing to me -- off with your head!'
Mariah: 'I am not being disrespectful.'
Nicki: 'Off with your head, off with your head.
'Don't tell me I'm insecure, don't tell me I'm inadequate... you gonna get sent [inaudible] just fall back. Don't... you don't know [inaudible] I don't feel inadequate. You're the insecure one sitting up there running down her resume every five minutes.
'Every time you take a shot at me I'mma take it back, and if you gotta f****** problem then handle it. I told them, I'm not f***** putting up with your f***** highness over there... figure it the f*** out. Figure it out.
Mariah: 'Why. Why.'
Nicki: 'Figure it out.'
Nicki: 'I'm not sitting here for 20 minutes and having you run down your resume everyday, No! Goodbye!'
Mariah: 'Listen, I can't see my kids because you decided to make... to have... to have a little baby fit and going all around the stage.'
Nicki: 'Good, well then go see them now, go see them now ... you're boring as f***, you're boring as f***.'
The pair were rumoured to have been arguing on the first day of auditions, although Mariah hit back at the reports claiming them to be untrue.
All four members of the panel have returned for the next round of auditions in Charlotte yesterday afternoon (3rd October)
