Fresh rumours suggest Ed has been tasked to join as a mentor for contestants in the show's battle rounds.
Ed Sheeran has reportedly been asked to appear as a guest mentor on The Voice US this year.
The 'Lego House' singer is allegedly set to join Christina Aguilera's team as a special guest when the show returns this autumn.
According the Huffington Post the UK singer-songwriter has been asked to join 'Beautiful' singer Christina for the show's highly competitive battle rounds which take place in October.
The Voice US is set to return to the screen in September for a fifth season, with mentors Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera rejoining the show after taking last series off.

'Everything Has Changed' singer Ed is slated to appear on two episodes airing 14th and 15th October, while he is currently serving as the opening act on Taylor Swift's 'Red' tour for the remainder of the year.
Ed Sheeran is also working on his second studio album at present, teasing potential team-ups with both Rudimental and The Game last week, which is expected to drop around February 2014.
