Ed Sheeran "Extremely Happy" After Album Sales Success

The 20 year-old singer-songwriter is celebrating after revealing his debut album has sold over 900,000 copies.

Ed Sheeran has announced his debut album has gone three times platinum in the UK since being released in September 2011.

The 'Lego House' singer revealed the news earlier today (9th January) ahead of his UK tour launch later tonight in Aberdeen.

"Aberdeen! First day of the tour! Stage looks amazing," Ed posted.

"I'm extremely happy to announce that my album '+' has gone 3X platinum, shifting over 900,000 copies. Love you all so much x."

Earlier today it was also confirmed that both Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sande will perform at the BRIT Awards 2012 nominations ceremony in London on Thursday (12th January).

The 'A Team' singer recently finished working on a secret EP project with one of his "favourite" artists while in Los Angeles.
