The US singer says she thinks the two pop stars have been through similar struggles over the year.
Demi Lovato says she and Britney Spears "bonded" on The X Factor US last year because of the similar personal situations they have both found themselves in in the past.
The 'Heart Attack' singer, who was recently in the UK to promote her new album 'Demi', admits she will miss the 'Scream & Shout' star on the show this year after Britney opted to leave after just one season behind the judging table.
We've definitely bonded, I think because we've been through the same stuff," Demi revealed to The Sun this week. "But if we did have a heart-to-heart I probably wouldn't tell a magazine about it!
"It's pretty obvious that we've been through some of the same things for sure," the US star admitted. "We have kept in touch.
"Our moms have become super-close, which is really random, it's super-funny," Demi added. "She was really great and super down to Earth. I'm going to miss her this season."

Britney is not back on The X Factor USA this year so she can focus on her music career, announcing a new song called 'Ooh La La' last month, with Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio taking Britney and LA Reid's spots on the panel.
Demi revealed to Capital FM last week that she is a huge fan of 'Wings' singers Little Mix, who released their debut album in the US last week to a high sales.
