The 'Criminal' star is rumoured to be leaving the panel amid claims producers wanted to replace her.
Britney Spears is reportedly set to leave her judging panel position on The X Factor USA after just one season on the popular FOX talent show.
The 'Till The World Ends' singer is allegedly planning to focus on a return to music this year, while some reports suggest producers have been planning to replace the pop star with a new face.
"Britney and her team knew it was unlikely she'd be asked back as a judge," a source told the MailOnline this week. "The producers have already been making other plans for next season over the holidays.
"The reality is that toward the end of last season the main players knew they wanted to replace both Britney and LA Reid," the source explained. "LA Reid wasn't at the top of his game in the second season and he knew that."

The 'Criminal' singer was paid a reported $15 million for taking on the second season of The X Factor USA as a panelist, alongside Simon Cowell, LA Reid and fellow new addition Demi Lovato.
Britney Spears recently topped the Vodafone Big Top 40 when she featured on will.i.am's new song 'Scream & Shout', and is currently working on her eighth studio album.
