Ariana performed at the festival on Sunday night with special guests including NSYNC*, Nicki Minaj, Diddy and Mase.
The first weekend of Coachella is done. It's over. And the first round of #Arichella is now complete. Pop legend Ariana Grande took to the stage in Indio, California on Sunday night and became the fourth female artist and the youngest artist to ever headline the festival.
Ariana's Coachella set had everything. Nicki Minaj singing Bang Bang. Diddy and Mase. An *NSYNC reunion minus Justin Timberlake. A 25 track setlist. Costume changes. A subtle tribute to Mac Miller. Unfortunate technical problems. Vocals. Choreo. And, a very very hefty performance fee (by the sounds of things).
According to Variety, Ariana will reportedly take home an $8 million pay day (around £6m) for her two performances at the festival. Sources say Ari doubled the usual fee that's given to headliners.
It's previously been reported that big name headline acts are paid around $3-5 million. Beyoncé, who performed a show stopping and groundbreaking set in 2018, was apparently paid around that mark.
Ariana reportedly accepted the offer following last minute drama surrounding a potential Kanye West headline slot. After he dropped out, the slot was offered to Ari who is said to have negotiated a higher fee.
As the old ancient proverb goes: "If it ain't money then wrong number xoxo"
