The singer reportedly begins secret talks with Simon Cowell to take a seat on the judging panel from 2016.

Adele has committed to a judging role on The X Factor UK, according to The Daily Star.

The 'Someone Like You' singer has reportedly been in secret talks with Simon Coweil to join the TV talent show from 2016, following the release and promotion of her third studio album '25'.

A source told the newspaper, "Simon wanted her to join him and Cheryl Cole on this year’s panel."

Although she has turned him down due to album commitments she has promised to sign up as a judge in the next few years.

"She really wants to join the show, even if it is just for a one-off year," the source added. "Although no contract has been signed, Adele has made it clear to Simon she’s up for it when the time is right."

Adele is currently working on her third studio album rumoured to be titled '25', and set for release later this year.

Her last studio album '21' has sold over 28million copies worldwide to date.

The X Factor returns to our screens in August, and sees the return of former judges Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell.

The remaining judges' seats are still yet to be confirmed, however it is likely that Louis Walsh will return for a final year.
