Kim Kardashian is becoming a lawyer and, no, this is not a joke

Yes, you read the headline correctly.
Kim Kardashian just announced she's becoming a lawyer and WTF is going on!? In the most surprising plot twist EVER, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star revealed her plans to change career in an interview with Vogue.
The mother-of-three revealed that she's already started a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm and hopes to take the bar exam (the test that allows you to become a lawyer) in 2022, after she was inspired by her work helping to free Alice Marie Johnson last year.
Alice was an inmate at an Alabama prison for over 20 years, after being convicted of a nonviolent drug offence in 1996. The mother-of-five was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, despite that being her first offence. She was eventually granted clemency and released from prison after Kim paid a visit to President Donald Trump.
"I had to think long and hard about this," she told the publication. "The White House called me to advise to help change the system of clemency and I'm sitting in the Roosevelt Room with, like, a judge who had sentenced criminals and a lot of really powerful people and I just sat there, like, Oh, shit. I need to know more.
"I would say what I had to say, about the human side and why this is so unfair. But I had attorneys with me who could back that up with all the facts of the case.
"It’s never one person who gets things done; it’s always a collective of people, and I’ve always known my role, but I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society.
"I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more."
Kim didn't just stop at helping Alice, though, she has continued working on criminal justice reform with activists and has brought attention to other cases.
It was last summer when she made the decision to follow in her late father Robert Kardashian's footsteps. Kim has to study for 18 hours per week with two lawyer mentors before she takes her "baby bar" exam this summer. She'll then have three more years before she can be a qualified lawyer.

Did Kim Kardashian graduate college?
Well, according to Vogue, California is one of four states in the US where a law degree isn't actually needed to sit the bar exam. You just have to do it through an apprenticeship with a lawyer or a law firm, which is exactly what Kim is doing.
Everyone was low-key shook, like, Kim Kardashian? A lawyer? Obviously, the internet reacted in the only way they knew how – with memes.

Imagine you got done for speeding and your lawyer walks into court and it’s Kim Kardashian. You’d get the death penalty

This is why we don't take her seriously. A criminal justice lawyer? Why make a mockery of the hard work, diligence, respectability and INTELLIGENCE it takes to be a lawyer? You can have ambition, but not too much. Please stay in your lane.
