The news that Davie Bowie had lost his battle to cancer aged 69 left the music world in shock - the stars have paid tribute to the legend.
The legendary singer David Bowie lost his battle to cancer aged 69, and the world woke to the shock news that he had been batting the illness in secret for 18 months.
An iconic musician and performer, David sold over 140 million records in his career, had 61 UK Top 40 hits, 5 UK number one singles and 9 UK number one albums and countless awards.
His son, Duncan Jones, broke the news to his fans this morning (11th January), "David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief."
