Elon Musk took to Twitter confirm the birth of his baby with girlfriend Grimes, and even posted a sweet snap of the new arrival to mark the occasion. However, fans have been left a little confused by the choice of name, and are trying to figure out what it means...
Ever since pop icon Grimes and billionaire boyfriend Elon Musk announced they were having a baby, the entire world has had their eyes on their social media channels, waiting to see what weird and wonderful creation they'd come up with for the name. And we may finally have an answer, because the baby is here.
Taking to Twitter last night (May 4), Elon confirmed that 'Mom and baby are doing well' before being bombarded with fans asking for photo-proof that this wasn't some extreme lucid dream, and of course, what name they had decided on for the little one.

The Tesla CEO quickly dropped the first baby pic, of course, edited with the finest face tattoos and added that they're "never too young for some ink". This is usually the type of thing that would shock us, but this is Grimes and Elon Musk. Let's get real.
And with 32-year-old Grimes, also known as Claire Boucher, previously stating that "everyone’s gonna make fun of" the name because it was "too avant-garde" - it'll be no surprise that the name they have chosen is 'X Æ A-12 Musk'.

We have no idea how to pronounce that either.
Of course, the internet has thoughts, and while we wait for confirmation on exactly where this seemingly robotic name actually came from, everyone has got some pretty good reactions to the news...

A-12 reportedly stands for 'Archangel', Americas first stealth plane that was used by spies, while Grimes is known for her song '4ÆM' that could've also influenced the use of the uncommon symbol.
While the 'Flesh without Blood' singer previously said their baby would be free to choose their own gender identity, Elon has tweeted that X Æ A-12 is in fact a little boy.
He dropped a picture holding the newborn, who has the same adorable nose as his mum, and despite confusion around how he'll ever find a keyring with his name on, we have to say, he's pretty damn cute.

There's been no word from Grimes on the birth just yet, but she's been open with fans throughout her pregnancy, so we're sure we can expect some clarity on what-the-hell-just-happened pretty soon.
Congratulations!
