It was one of the biggest nights in the music world calendar and this year, it was all about thee big names… Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and One Direction!

The Billboard Music Awards 2015 took place last night (17th May) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with some of the world's best stars out to celebrate their achievements.

After her brand new 'Bad Blood' music video opened the show with its premiere, Taylor went on to win a grand total of EIGHT gongs throughout the night, as well as publicly canoodling with her man Calvin Harris for the first time since romance rumours emerged.

'Stay With Me' star Sam Smith was another big winner, bagging two gongs including Best Male, while his fellow UK stars One Direction also picked up two awards for Top Duo/Group and Top Touring Artist.

While accepting one of their awards the #CapitalSTB stars dedicated them to their "brother" Zayn Malik, who quit the band earlier this year.

The Billboard Music Awards 2015 saw some incredible performances over the course of the evening from stars including Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Nick Jonas, Ed Sheeran, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson and Meghan Trainor.
