HMV has apologised after it mistakenly published a page on its website.
Music retailer HMV has issued an apology after it mistakenly published a page for The X Factor winner's single – five days before the result will be announced.
Fans complained after a CD single for Amelia Lily was advertised as "coming soon" and not the other two finalists, Marcus Collins and Little Mix.
In a statement, HMV blamed the mistake on an "unforseen but regrettable technical issue".
"Hmv.com was looking to accept customer pre-orders for versions of The X Factor Winner's single recorded by each of the three Finalists," a spokesperson said.
"However, due to a technical issue only Amelia Lily's details were uploaded. These have been temporarily removed so that all three Finalists details can go up at the same time. "
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: "This is absolutely nothing to do with The X Factor, HMV have admitted this was due to a technical error on their site."
The final of this year's The X Factor will take place this weekend.
