The 'Love Story' singer says the song is about dating someone you always knew was bad for you.
Taylor Swift has unveiled the last song from her new album 'Red', ahead of releasing her upcoming fourth studio album later this month.
The 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' singer has released 'I Knew You Were Trouble' online in America this week after previewing it on Good Morning America, and explains that the song was penned about falling for someone even though you knew they were bad for you.
"It's a song that's one of my favourites on the album because it sounds just as chaotic as the feeling was when I wrote it," Taylor revealed on the US breakfast show.
"It's a song about, kind of, being frustrated with yourself because here you are heartbroken and you knew when you first saw that person, you saw all these red flags and you just went for it anyway," Taylor explained. "So shame on me!"

"I Knew You Were Trouble' comes out tonight at midnight,' Taylor tweeted yesterday. "Ready to hear more about my romantic misadventures????"
"Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in, so shame on me now," the song lyrics to 'I Knew You Were Trouble' read. "Flew me to places I'd never been, now I'm lying on the cold hard ground."
Taylor teamed up with UK singer Ed Sheeran on a track called 'Everything Has Changed' for her new record, and recently revealed she baked the 'Lego House' star an apple pie after they recorded it together.
Last week Taylor unveiled the full track listing to her new album 'Red', which is due to be officially released on 22nd October.
