It’s probably the last song we’d have expected Sam Smith to cover, but we can’t get over how amazing he sounds doing a Whitney classic.
We never would have taken Sam Smith to be a Whitney Houston fan, but he’s definitely surprised us with his incredible cover of ‘How Will I Know’.
Sam has taken a slightly cheesy dancefloor classic and turned it into the MOST amazing ballad – and that VOICE is giving us chills down our spine.
A teaser of the cover was featured in a recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy but the full live performance dropped this weekend – and the internet went crazy. We can definitely see why!
We think we prefer Sam’s soulful rendition of the 1985 classic to the original – sorry, Whitney!
Dear @CapitalOfficial and everyone attending the Capital Summertime Ball. I am so sad to say I won't be performing https://t.co/jHCkZ2DjCg

Sam was also scheduled to perform at last weekend’s Summertime Ball but was sadly unable to make it on the day due to being unwell. Sam posted on Facebook:
“Dear Capital FM & everyone attending the Capital Summertime Ball, I am so so sad to say I won't be performing today. I've just got off the plane and my voice has completely gone.
This is the first show I've ever had to cancel and I am praying that it is the last. I really have to avoid any long term damage to my voice. Once again, I am so sorry.
All my love x"
We hope you’re on the mend, Sam - we need that incredible voice back in our lives soon!
