Rihanna wary of sequel
Rihanna's admitted the sequel to her hit 'Love the Way You Lie' with Eminem almost never happened.
The 22 year old didn't believe the original, which was No 1 in over twenty countries, could be improved so she almost refused to work on Love the Way You Lie (Part II).
She told MTV.com, "When I first heard the idea about doing a part two, I was just completely against it. I just felt like you couldn't beat the original. There's no way you can outdo that, so why compete with it?"
So what changed her mind.
"We heard a broken-down version that was stripped down, just piano... I fell in love with it. We recorded it, then we did another version to the stripped-down version with drums, then we did another version with drums and Eminem. And then that was the one that just felt really good. I love both: I love the broken-down version, as well as the new one with Eminem."
"Love the Way You Lie II" is on Rihanna's new album, "Loud".
It's a been a busy weekend for Rihanna with performances on Saturday Night Live in the States and The X-Factor in London. In between her latest single Only Girl (in the World) went to No 1 on The Big Top 40.
