Rihanna has hit back at critics who say her 'Man Down' video is too violent.
The video, which features Riri killing a man who attacks her, has been slammed by US parent groups.
But Rihanna has taken to Twitter to defend the controversial scenes.
"U can't hide your kids from society,or they'll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD!" Rihanna Tweeted.
"I'm a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What's up with everybody wantin me to be a parent? I'm just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!"
Rihanna's aim with the music video was to try and raise awareness of the taboo subject of sexual assault.
"We always think it could NEVER be us, but in reality, it can happen to ANY of us! So ladies be careful..." she Tweeted.
'Man Down' is the fifth US single to be taken from her album 'Loud'.
