A host of music stars have been passing on their good wishes to the happy couple.
Rihanna has lead the tributes to Beyonce and husband Jay-Z following the news that the couple have given birth to a baby girl called Blue Ivy Carter.
The 'We Found Love' singer was one of the first to offer her congratulations to the superstar couple on her Twitter account.
"Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih," she tweeted yesterday (8th January).
Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole also expressed her joy at the 'Countdown' singer's new arrival.
She posted: "Congratulations to Beyonce and Jay on the birth of their first child.. Welcome to the world Blue Ivy !..."
JLS' Oritsé made sure to give a few words of praise as well - belieivng that a new star had been born.
He wrote: "Congrats to Jiggaman "Jay Z" and beyonce on their new born girl baby Blue Ivy...a new Star has come into the world! Lots of Love..Oritsé x."
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's wife Gwnyth Paltrow was also joining in the well wishes as she offered her close friends' new arrival a welcoming message.
The Hollywood actress wrote: "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already."
Sister, Solange simply tweeted: "The most beautiful girl in the world."
News broke of the birth yesterday morning after reports from E! News emerged stating the child was delivered via C-section at Lenox Hill hospital.
The birth comes following Internet rumours that the star had already given birth to a girl called Tiana-May Carter last month.
