The 'Talk That Talk' star talks about her role in new movie.
Rihanna has revealed that her character in forthcoming film Battleship was inspired by a "badass" naval officer.
The woman, called Jackie, helped train the 'We Found Love' star as she prepared to star in her first ever movie role.
Speaking to The Sun, RiRi said: "I was playing what she does in real life. I tried to get into her character. She's fearless, one of the boys."
The film, which is due to be released this coming spring, sees Rihanna play a weapons officer called Raikes.
Speaking to Capital FM about the movie last year, RiRi said she relished the opportunity to play such a feisty role in the science fiction film.
Rihanna described her involvement in the movie as "one of the coolest experiences I've ever had in my life".
Battleship, which is based on the game of the same name, also stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Neeson.
