One Direction's Zayn Malik On Perrie Edwards Romance: "I Was Scared To Meet Her Brother"

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' star admits he was worried the first time he met the Little Mix star's sibling due to his size.

One Direction star Zayn Malik has confessed that he was "scared" meeting his girlfriend Perrie Edwards' brother for the first time.

The 'Gotta Be You' singer has been dating the Little Mix star since they met on the last season of the X Factor in 2011, but he admitted the size of Perrie's sibling was intimidating.

"I was a bit scared of her brother to be honest, he's in the Navy. He's a big bloke," the boy band star told The Sun. "I thought he was going to be a bit defensive of his sister but he was really cool."

The couple went public with their relationship earlier this year when they were pictured sharing a public embrace back in May.

The 'One Thing' star also revealed that he finds juggling time with his own family difficult and misses watching his sisters grow up.

"It's been really hard. Last weekend was the first time in six months that I'd been home," he added. "It's pretty strange because you have images of people in your head when you left, then you just think they're going to be the same when you come back, like time freezes.

"I have sisters and from the ages of 11 to 13 — it's a big change for girls."

Meanwhile, Liam Payne recently revealed that he worries about his bandmate and the way he has adjusted to fame.

"I don't think he's quite accustomed to all of this," he said. "He's had a terrible time on Twitter."

One Direction are currently preparing for the release of their new studio album 'Take Me Home'.

The tracklisting for the record has also been released this week and features their current Vodafone Big Top 40 number one 'Live While We're Young'.
