The 'Best Song Ever' band are said to be planning to start writing new music out on tour next year.
One Direction have reportedly already started planning their new album ready for a late 2014 release, despite their third album 'Midnight memories' still being over a month away from launch.
The 'Live While We're Young' singers' management team are allegedly asking for submissions from some of the "world's best songwriters" ready for the band's fourth record, with plans to have the boys get involved in writing early next year.
"Simon and the boys know they have to ride the wave for as long as possible," a source told the Daily Star this week. "Some of the world's best songwriters have been asked to submit songs for the next album.
"The boys themselves are also putting pen to paper in their spare time," the source explained. "Although they won't get heavily involved until next year win they will have organised writing sessions."
The source goes on to claim One Direction are then expected to begin recording sessions for the album during their 'Where We Are' UK stadium tour.
