The 'Little Things' singer has also promised "fireworks" for One Direction's performance tonight.
One Direction's Liam Payne has spoken exclusively to Capital FM about their performance at tonight's (20th February) BRIT Awards 2013 and what he did when he bumped into Justin Timberlake backstage earlier today.
The 'Live While We're Young' singer is set to perform new song 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)' with his bandmates at the BRITs today in London, and promises "a lot of lights" and "some fireworks" when the boy band take to the stage.
"It was really good. It's exciting when the performance goes good in the rehearsals, so then you know you're not going to mess up on the night," Liam told Capital FM presenter Max, after the band's soundcheck rehearsal.
"There's a lot of lights, a lot of stairs, some fireworks and stuff, so there are a lot of chances to fall over stuff which is not fun, especially when you're the most clumsy one!
The 'Little Things' singer also says he is very excited to watch Justin Timberlake's performance later today, and revealed he has already bumped into the 'Suit & Tie' singer backstage at the O2 Arena.
"I'm a massive fan of Justin Timberlake, he's one of my idols," Liam revealed. "He walked past me today and I was just, like silent, eyes wide open."

When asked about One Direction's chances at scooping the British Group award at tonight's event, the 'Kiss You' singer says he is still hopeful the band could win.
"I hope we've got a chance," he added. "There are a lot of amazing artists in that category, so we'll be seeing what does down really I suppose."
Earlier this week Liam's bandmate Harry Styles also spoke to Capital where he admitted the band are "not really" confident about their chances of winning an award, and predict that fellow UK group Mumford & Sons will take home the coveted BRITs gong.
Tonight's ceremony will not only see One Direction performing live but also see sets from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Robbie Williams, Taylor Swift and Emeli Sande over the course of the evening.
The BRIT Awards 2013 will be hosted by comedian James Corden and begins from 8pm tonight live from London's O2 Arena.
