The 'Gotta Be You' singer will be a victim of the time difference as he is flying to America when he turns 18.

One Direction star Harry Styles has revealed that he almost had to put a halt to plans to celebrate his 18th Birthday because the boy band are flying to America.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' star would be affected by the time difference meaning he would remain 17 for a little while longer on the 1st of February.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Harry confessed: "We are on a plane to the US on my birthday. That means we'll be going back in time so I stay 17.

"I'll just have to wait until I'm back home to party," he added.

A spokesperson for flight provider Virgin Atlantic admitted that this shouldn't pose as a problem to the teen star.

"Although he may go back in time travelling to the US, as he is 18 in the country where he boarded the flight, he will be fine to enjoy a drink on board," they said.

Meanwhile, Harry can be seen pulling a prank on his band mate Louis in a new tour video diary released by One Direction.

The band are currently in the middle of their UK tour which pulls into Birmingham's NIA Arena this evening.
