The 'A Team' singer also reveals whether he has been working with the boys on their new record.

Ed Sheeran has claimed One Direction's brand new album is "already finished", while confirming he hasn't contributed to the boy band's record this time around.

The 'Lego House' singer revealed news that the 'What Makes You Beautiful' five-piece's new record is now basically complete, but says he opted not to work on the album in favour of completing his own new record.

"I haven't done any songs on this one," Ed confirmed to MTV News. "I've actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment because I want to make my album.

"I was approached and it wasn't so much as a 'no', it was just a 'I want to write tunes for myself at the moment'," he explained. 'Once my album's done then we'll see.

"But their album is already finished," Ed then revealed, referring to One Direction's third studio album.
