Three of today's Jingle Bell Ball performers say they can't wait to get on stage at today's O2 Arena event.

Emeli Sande, Ed Sheeran and One Direction have all expressed excitement ahead of their performances at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball this weekend.

All three acts are due to perform on the second day of the Ball (4th December) alongside headliner Jessie J, JLS, The Saturdays and Wretch 32.

"I feel very privileged and honoured to be asked to play," Emeli told Capital FM. "It's going to be a huge gig – the line-up is awesome, so I'm excited.

"So far people have only really heard 'Heaven' or 'Daddy' so it will be great to play one or two from the album as well."

'The A-Team' singer Ed Sheeran said he has heard the Jingle Bell Ball is a "wicked" event and can't wait to perform hits from his debut album '+' this Sunday.

"I'm very excited. I've never been or played, so I'm intrigued," Ed revealed. "I think Jessie's going to smack it up, Jessie always smacks it up, so I'm looking forward to seeing Jessie.

"Wretch as well, he's going to be great. It's a shame I can't watch Rihanna because she's on the day before!"

Five-piece boy band One Direction said they are looking forward to sharing the stage with such a broad range of popular artists.

"There are some huge names there and we cannot wait to go and be a part of it," Harry Styles added. "It's going to be fun."

The Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball began yesterday (3rd December) with performances from Rihanna, Olly Murs, Calvin Harris, The Wanted, Pixie Lott, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks and Jason Derulo.
