Nicki Minaj "Disappointed" By M.I.A Hand Gesture During Madonna's Super Bowl Show

The 'Starships' rapper says she wouldn't have risked any backlash on Madonna by doing what M.I.A. did during their performance.

Nicki Minaj says she was disappointed of M.I.A.'s infamous hand gesture at the Super Bowl earlier this month during her performance with Madonna.

The 'Super Bass' rapper although Madonna knew that Nicki and M.I.A. are "firecrackers", she wouldn't have done anything to risk a "backlash" on the 'Give Me All Your Luvin' singer.

"I'm a cuckoo lady too, but I would never be able to do it off the strength of Madonna," Nicki told Ryan Seacrest yesterday (13^th February). "Madonna knows the artist that M.I.A. is and it was her decision to take the risk with all of us.

"We were kinda all firecrackers and she took that risk," Nicki explained. 'She's done some crazy things becoming the icon that she is, so I think that's why she was able to forgive M.I.A." 

Nicki added: "I love M.I.A. and I don't want to say anything that is the wrong thing, but me personally, I couldn't see myself doing it, just for the respect for Madonna.

The 'Stupid Hoe' rapper gave her own controversial performance during the Grammy Awards on Sunday (12^th February) in a stage show that saw her confessing sins to a priest and exorcising her alter ego Roman Zolanski. 

Nicki Minaj's new single 'Starships' received its first play on Capital FM earlier today.
