The 'Starships' rapper and Alicia performed 'Girl On Fire' to a routine by the gold medal winning Olympian.
Nicki Minaj and Alicia Keys teamed up for a duet at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 (VMAs) last night in Los Angeles, which also saw Olympic gold medal winning US gymnast Gabby Douglas join the stars on stage for a routine.
'No One' singer Alicia Keys was introduced on stage by the US women's gymnastics team for her performance of new single 'Girl On Fire', performing the piano-led track stood up before heading down the main steps to the front of stage.
Alicia is currently preparing for the release of her new album 'Girl On Fire' later this year, and her performance was watched at the Staples Centre by her husband Wiz Khalifa.
Halfway through the performance Alicia introduced duet partner Nicki who appeared in the middle of the crowd for a short rap, dressed in a black hooded top with a bright blonde wig.

After Nicki's section of the song gold medal winning gymnast Gabby Douglas then appeared on stage to perform a series of flips and tumbles before high-fiving Alicia as she wrapped up the crowd-pleasing performance.

Nicki also had reasons to celebrate yesterday when she won Best Female Video for her recent hit single 'Starships'.
