Lady Gaga Performs To One Million People As She Kick Starts 2012

Lady Gaga performed to one million people as she celebrated the start of 2012 in New York's Times Square.

The star braved freezing cold temperatures to play a medley of hits including 'Marry The Night' and 'Born This Way' – watch a video of her performance below.

Following her appearance on stage, Lady Gaga joined by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg drop the New Year's Eve ball.

The huge gig in Times Square also featured performances from Florence and the Machine, Justin Bieber, LMFAO and Drake.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga revealed her New Years resolution in a message on Twitter.

She wrote: "Never be afraid to be kicked in the teeth. Let the blood and the bruises define your legacy."

Lady Gaga is expected to head out on tour again this year in support of her second album 'Born This Way'.

The world tour is rumoured to be scheduled to last for two years and will apparently see the star perform more than 400 gigs.
